Economy + Lower Taxes

Kristin is committed to business growth and fostering job creation by reducing regulatory burdens on businesses, reversing the restaurant/food tax, and eliminating the car tax.  She also plans to work alongside the governor to create incentives for businesses to hire those recently laid off.

Better Schools

Kristin is a proponent of ensuring every Virginian is prepared for the workforce, whether it is college or trade and vocational schools.  She believes school curriculum should focus on reading, math, science, history, and tools for long-term success.  As a strong believer in academic standards of excellence and merit-based admissions, Kristin would like to see the number of charter and magnet schools increased throughout Virginia.

Safer Communities

As a military spouse and mother, Kristin is a staunch supporter of Virginia’s police officers, first responders, and veterans.  To retain the most qualified police officers, Kristin would like to explore options for expanding Virginia’s retirement programs and healthcare.  She also believes qualified immunity should be enforced uniformly throughout Virginia for police officers following procedures in the line of duty.

Clean Energy Policy

Virginians deserve affordable, reliable energy AND a clean environment. Unfortunately, the Virginia Clean Economy Act is having devastating unintended consequences for our farmers and rural communities - as well as for ratepayers whose utility bills have skyrocketed. While the law was sold as a clean energy solution, its implementation has led to soil and water contamination, broken promises, and financial ruin for many family farms. This is a textbook example of a well-branded government program with no consideration for its long-term impacts.

We need to repeal the Virginia Clean Economy Act, hold solar developers accountable, protect agricultural land and water, support farmers, and prioritize energy policies that respect property rights and rural livelihoods. We also need to invest in alternative energy sources like natural gas and new nuclear power to meet Virginia’s growing energy demands.

Casinos

I stand firmly opposed to all efforts to bring casinos to Northern Virginia or legalize gambling on our waterways. Our area already struggles with enormous traffic congestion and public safety challenges. Dropping a casino into the mix won’t solve those problems. If anything, it’ll mean more cars on the road, more DUI’s, and more strain on law enforcement. It will also hurt small businesses and restaurants. The costs don’t outweigh any potential benefits to the community, and Virginia shouldn’t gamble with our future.
